Maintenance Manager

WineTalent is working with our confidential client on a Maintenance Manager role in the Napa Valley. 

About the Company:  Our client is a luxury wine producer in the Napa Valley that makes exceptional wines balancing old world winemaking techniques with Napa Valley terroir and modern technology.  This is an estate winery with extensive vineyards in the Napa AVA.

About the Position:  The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and equipment of the winery.  This role will work with winemaking, vineyard management and administrative personnel to identify maintenance needs, schedule repairs and oversee the maintenance budget for the facility.  This position maintains the property including buildings and residences.  This role also will manage various vendors for equipment installations and repairs.  Additionally, the Maintenance Manager will work with contractors and staff on various large capital improvement projects


  • Provide maintenance to the winery equipment, viticultural equipment, and all buildings on the property.
  • Working closely with various departments, determine maintenance needs, and properly schedule repairs and maintenance to maximize performance while minimizing business disruptions.
  • Establish a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all equipment and systems while making recommendations to improve operation efficiency.
  • Develop and manage annual budget for repairs and maintenance on the property.
  • Managing the maintenance needs of buildings and residences both on and off the property.
  • Be available for off-hour needs of the property including answering alarms and addressing any emergencies that may arise.


  • Training and experience in maintenance and repairs of industrial winemaking equipment (crush, fermentation, refrigeration, bottling, packaging, heat exchangers, HVAC).
  • Training and experience in welding, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Ability to plan, organize, perform, and coordinate routine maintenance of equipment in production, warehouse, and residential buildings.
  • Good Excel skills.
  • Attention to detail, rigor, dedication, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to document, analyze, communicate, and report.
  • Spanish/English language skills are highly desirable
